Absolutely fantastic news to hear that our Unions have worked their magic with our regrade. If there is anyone that is not a member of a union at the moment please make sure that you join up, this just proves how good it is to stand united.

My rep approached me about attending the stage one SAM meeting with me, in my naivety I hadn’t realised that representation was a good idea, but could feel that my mood was low and that I was slipping into feeling paranoid and worthlessness situation. My rep attended the meeting with me where quite a few issues were raised about my condition, my operation and support within the section that I worked. I cannot stress enough the gratitude I feel for the support that my rep gave me and for the understanding of my condition. I have been feeling quite low and have suffered with depression in the past. I was treated with respect and made to feel valued when I was feeling vulnerable and undervalued. The outcome of the meeting was amazing.
I was feeling very worried of the outcome of the meeting worried about my future and how I would be treated because of the lack of communication between the management team. I am now feeling very optimistic and feel I have the full support of my manager, and confident that I have the full support and dedication of my rep.
