INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2026 — # GIVE TO GAIN
International Women’s Day is a global call for equality, dignity, and respect.
For Unite WM7015, it’s a moment to stand together, celebrate the achievements of women across our workplaces, and challenge the inequalities that still hold too many back.
The 2026 theme — Give to Gain — speaks directly to our union values.
When we give our time, our solidarity, our support, and our collective strength, we gain a fairer world for everyone.
This year, we’re focusing on practical action, visible support, and collective empowerment.

WHY IWD MATTERS TO UNITE WM7015
Women are at the heart of our workplaces and our communities.
Yet too many still face barriers — from unequal pay and insecure work to discrimination, harassment, and limited opportunities for progression.
As a union, we believe:
-
Every woman deserves safety, respect, and fairness at work
-
Equality is won through collective action, not individual struggle
-
Solidarity is strongest when every voice is heard and valued
International Women’s Day is our chance to reaffirm these principles and show what solidarity looks like in practice.

TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN
When we stand together, we lift each other up.
When we give, we gain.
When we act collectively, we build a fairer future for all.
Unite WM7015 is proud to support International Women’s Day 2026 — and proud to stand with every woman in our branch, every day of the year.
To champion women of all backgrounds who dare to innovate, lead, and uplift others towards a more equal and inclusive workplace.
Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.
We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations, and celebrate women's achievements.
Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world. Equality is not a women's issue, it's a business issue.
Gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive.
A gender equal world can be healthier, wealthier, and more harmonious - so what's not great about that?
The race is on for the gender equal boardroom, a gender equal government, gender equal media coverage, gender equal workplaces, gender equal sports coverage, more gender equality in health and wealth so let's make it happen.

We are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviours, and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society.
Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world.
